SJE® Acquires Anchor Scientific, Expanding Its Portfolio in Water Sensors and Controls

DETROIT LAKES, Minnesota (May 18, 2025) SJE, Inc., the global industry leader in control systems, today announced the acquisition of Anchor Scientific, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of switches and controllers for the water and wastewater industry. The acquisition expands SJE’s portfolio of liquid level floats and related products, growing its presence within the municipal, commercial, and residential markets. The Anchor Scientific acquisition marks SJE’s eighth acquisition since 2021 and first in 2026. Founded in 1965 and run by brothers John and David Potter, Anchor Scientific has a proud history of manufacturing a wide range of float switches and other products from its facility in Long Lake, Minnesota. Anchor Scientific has grown into a trusted solution for float switches for the water and wastewater industry throughout the United States. “Anchor Scientific is a great addition to the SJE portfolio of brands and products,” said Bjorn Haldorsen, CEO of SJE. “Adding these products expands SJE’s market reach, providing new customers with the SJE support and capabilities we are known for from our other SJE brands. Jake Schwertel Joins SJE as Director of IoT Technology

DETROIT LAKES, Minnesota (May 13, 2025) SJE is excited to announce that Jake Schwertel has joined the company as Director of IoT Technology within the Cloud Connected Solutions (CCS) division, effective on April 14, 2026. Jake will be based out of New Hope, Minnesota. He will lead the technology vision and execution for CCS, driving innovation across hardware, software, and cloud-based IoT platforms. Jake has ten years of experience in the IoT industry. Most recently, Jake served as Senior Director of engineering at Irrigreen. Prior to that he held leadership roles at Barry-Wehmiller and assisted Amazon with their fleet management. Throughout his roles he established unified IoT infrastructures and launched new SaaS-driven business models. He applies his expertise in embedded systems, edge computing, and modern data architectures to translate business goals into scalable technology solutions. Laura Kerlagon Joins SJE Inc. As National Sales Manager – North America

DETROIT LAKES, Minnesota (March 3, 2025) – SJE is excited to announce that Laura Kerlagon has joined the company to serve as the National Sales Manager – North America (United States and Canada) for the Control and Level Sensing Technology (CLT) Division. Laura brings over 13 years of commercial and distribution channel sales experience at Bigwall Enterprises, Electrolux, General Insulation, and Whirlpool. Her most recent experience as Key Account Sales Manager at Whirlpool connected her with the plumbing industry, where she worked with a variety of customers, including retailers, distributors, and designers.  In her role, she helped identify new business opportunities, developed actionable plans for success, and mentored new sales talent. “We are excited to welcome Laura to the SJE team,” said Matt Murray, Vice President of Sales & Marketing – CLT Division. “Laura brings a proven track record of success with national accounts, deep multi-channel expertise, and a customer-first mindset that aligns with our values.” As the National Sales Manager – North America for SJE, Laura will oversee the Regional Sales Managers in the CLT division. Outside of work, Laura enjoys cooking, watching true crime shows, riding ATVs, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Cinnamon.
