CSI Controls Introduces CSION™ Indoor Alarm System

CSI Controls® introduces the CSION™ indoor alarm system, a sleek new alarm featuring a modern design and easy installation. This new alarm helps protect homes from potentially costly damage due to flooding, pump failure or freezing pipes and is perfect for any homeowner. When the tank level rises, the high-water float activates the alarm (audible and visual) to alert the homeowner of potentially threatening liquid level conditions. The sleek design of the CSION™ alarm incorporates an LED alarm light ring that illuminates red for alarm one and amber for alarm two. Two sensor inputs allow users the flexibility to choose which separate liquid level conditions to monitor. The alarm features a large, easy-to-use test/silence button located conveniently on the front of the enclosure. Simply press to test or silence the alarm. The light ring will stay illuminated as long as the alarm condition exists. The CSION™ also monitors low temperature conditions. When the temperature drops below 40°F (4°C), the low temperature indicator LED turns from green to red and the alarm sounds to alert the homeowner of the condition. This function can be disabled in cold climates. The “Power On” LED indicator light illuminates green for primary power, amber for battery backup and red when battery backup is low. The alarm will chirp when the battery is low. In addition, the CSION™ includes auxiliary contacts for attachment of remote devices and has an automatic alarm reset. The switching mechanism operates on low voltage and is isolated from the power line to reduce the possibility of shock. The complete package includes a standard Control Duty Narrow Angle Low Current Mechanical Float control switch. The CSION™ is CSA Certified and covered by CSI Controls’ three-year limited warranty.

SJE’s new Ohio facility opens for business

After 9 months of construction, SJE’s new facility in Ashland, Ohio, is officially open. About 67 employees work at the new facility, which is located 2 miles north of the old location at 2221 Ford Drive. “We are excited to finally be in our new Ashland location.  It is a great example of the commitment we have made to our team and the Ashland community,” CEO and President Dave Thomas said. “The new location, in combination with our other SJE facilities, will support our plans to continue the fantastic level of growth we have seen in recent years.  More importantly, it will enable SJE to improve efficiency, quality, and service as we strive to provide an exceptional customer experience.” The new 51,000 square foot manufacturing facility was designed by Patrick Blees, AIA, principal of C.M. Architecture and built by local general contractor Simonson Construction Services. Blees worked with SJE leadership to create a building that would enhance all aspects of SJE’s operations and support the company’s commitment to their customers, employees and the community. “The fact that SJE is an employee-owned company added tremendous energy and value to the design process because everyone cared so much about optimizing the work environment for the SJE teams,” Blees said. Located in the Ashland Business Park, the new facility was built to replace an older building with an outdated, multi-level work environment. Both time and energy efficiency were a factor in the design, as well as creating a modern look. “Guided by SJE’s focus on innovation, we enhanced the traditional square manufacturing ‘box’ in favor of a striking modern building with abundant natural light, energy-efficient HVAC systems, manufacturing production areas on a single floor, collaborative work spaces and numerous employee amenities,” Blees said. SJE will host a grand opening celebration at the new location on March 28, 2019.

SJE moves into new St. Petersburg, Florida, location

SJE recently moved their Florida office to a new building in St. Petersburg. The new building is over 80% larger, providing much needed space for growth. “The old building was very small and the panel building area just wasn’t big enough for our future growth,” Mark Santarossa, Location Manager, said. “Our production running through this office is increasing and we now have the space to invest and expand.” The new facility has 17,500 square feet, bringing the production space up to over 10,000 square feet. This allows extra room for growth in the panel building area. Other benefits of the new building include a one-level layout, better employee common areas, and a conference room. The new building address is 10040 18TH St. N, Suite #1, St. Petersburg, FL 33716. It is about a 6-mile drive southeast from the old location. SJE is a leading water/wastewater controls solutions provider and systems integrator with over 40 years of expertise. SJE markets three brands—SJE Rhombus, CSI Controls, and Primex—that deliver industry-leading pump controls for a wide range of residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial applications. With corporate headquarters located in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, SJE does business globally from eight locations across the United States and Asia. SJE is a 100% employee-owned, privately held company and was named the 2017 Employee Owned Company of the Year. To learn more, visit www.sjeinc.com.

SJE Rhombus’ holds first advanced training to foster product knowledge

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – SJE Rhombus held its first advanced training Oct. 16 – 17 at corporate headquarters in Detroit Lakes, MN. This follow-up course to the standard training was targeted to customers who had more advanced controls knowledge. OEMs, distributors, and reps had the opportunity to get an in-depth look at how SJE Rhombus products work. “Advanced training was designed to push our customers’ comfort levels with controls,” Jeremy Drinkwine, Program Manager-Custom Panels, said. “The goal was to create a hands-on experience where the attendee wired and trouble-shot a relay logic panel in a controlled environment.” Class topics included units of electricity, motor basics, panel characteristics, level sensing, schematics, VFDs, and pump controllers. Compared to the standard training, there was more hands-on wiring and troubleshooting focus. “From standard to advanced training, the biggest difference is the hands-on,” Drinkwine said. “For our advanced training, we had a total of 4 hours of hands-on training available, with 3 hours for building/troubleshooting and 1 hour for controllers.” Attendees used their new knowledge in a friendly panel wiring competition. Teams of two competed in wiring a single-phase relay logic duplex panel. They were graded on assembly time and accuracy. Jason Genagon and Joel Boyer won first place, each receiving a $50 VISA gift card. John Davis and Ben Bright won second, each receiving a $25 VISA gift card. Attendees also got the chance to experience some of the area’s local culture during their visit. Dinners at local establishments provided a fun chance to get to know everyone in a more relaxed environment. Altogether, the two-day training served to build relationships and give the attendees more confidence when handling or talking about SJE Rhombus products. “We sincerely want the attendees to have a different level of confidence when they leave, so that they can accomplish more when they are out in the field,” Tim Callander, Regional Sales Manager, said.

SJE launches new websites to better serve customers

DETROIT LAKES, Minnesota – SJE, a global manufacturer of industry-leading water and wastewater control products, recently launched four new websites as part of their rebranding efforts. They redesigned sites for their brands www.csicontrols.com, www.primexcontrols.com, and www.sjerhombus.com, and created a new company site for SJE at www.sjeinc.com. This new site contains all corporate information, such as history, leadership, and career opportunities. “As part of our recent rebranding of the company to SJE, it seemed a natural extension to also launch new websites for our brands CSI Controls, PRIMEX, and SJE Rhombus,” Jay Dienst, Director of Marketing, said. Minneapolis-based agency Linnihan Foy created the new websites for SJE in collaboration with SJE’s in-house marketing team. The launch is the culmination of almost a year of work, from creating the structure to designing and developing the final products. While part of the goal was to update with new branding, it also brought a much-needed opportunity to modernize the site, providing customers with a better user experience. “All of our websites are mobile friendly and have a common look and feel to better serve our customers 24/7,” Dienst said. Visitors to the new sites will find more interactive experiences, such as click-through troubleshooting guides and improved forms. The sites are designed to be easier for visitors to use and to reflect modern web design standards. “It’s all about making things better and easier for our customers,” Linda Norland, SJE’s digital designer, said. Norland also noted that since the move, some links from the old website will no longer work. Customers who are using old bookmarks or links may want to check that they are still active and do not lead to an error page. Anyone with questions about the new sites can contact her at linda.norland@sjeinc.com.
